Dear Sawyer Social Block Club Members,
Greetings, and welcome to our newsletter! We are thrilled to have you as part of our community and can’t wait to share the latest updates and news with all of you.
This is a platform for connecting residents, sharing happenings in our community, and nurturing stronger relationships among neighbors. While it’s packed with informative content, we intend to keep our newsletters engaging, enjoyable, and easy to read.
We hope that through this platform, you will discover new ways to get involved and connect with your fellow community members. And with that, we also encourage you to engage with us! Pay Your Dues
This year, we must collect official dues to plan and execute our block club activities properly. As a valued member of the Sawyer Social Block Club, we request that annual dues of $175 per household be due by July 1, 2025 (we've extended the date). Your prompt payment will significantly support our ability to plan and execute the following three suggested events: the highly anticipated Block Party, the rescheduled Movie Night, and the much-loved Family Game Night. By paying your dues, you actively contribute to the success and enjoyment of these events, allowing us to create memorable experiences for our community. Your support is invaluable, and we appreciate your timely payment to help make these events a reality.

Let’s Carnival & Celebrate! Sawyer Social Block Party – July 19, 2025
Hi Neighbors!
Mark your calendars for the Sawyer Social Block Party on Saturday, July 19, 2025! This year’s shindig is shaping up to be our most unforgettable yet—think carnival magic (complete with games, a dunk tank, and lively entertainment) if we hit our funding goals. But to make it all happen, we need YOU! Let’s dive into the details:
🚨 Safety First – Let’s Avoid a Repeat of Last Year!
Remember the scary close call in 2024 when a car came through during cleanup? This year, we’re barricading both ends of the block with cement blocks to keep everyone safe. Here’s how to help:
🚗 All cars MUST be off the block by 12 PM (noon).
🕙 Cars can return AFTER 10 PM once cleanup wraps.
Plan ahead for parking! Safety is a team effort.
🎪 Party Details & Theme
⏰ When: 2 PM – 9 PM (Cleanup ends by 10 PM).
🎟️ Theme: Carnival Extravaganza! (Games, prizes, dunk tank, DJ, and more—pending funds).
🍔 Food, tunes, and laughs included!
This isn’t just for kids! It’s a day for parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors to connect. Chicago’s a big city, but our block is a little slice of heaven—let’s make sure we enjoy it together!
💰 Dues & Funding
📅 Dues Deadline: July 1, 2025
🗓️ Annual Sawyer Social Membership: $175
$100 goes DIRECTLY to the block party (DJ, food, games, safety).
$75 covers other yearly events: Family Softball Day, Movie Night, Yard Sale Day, and the Holiday Scavenger Hunt!
The more dues paid on time, the more carnival fun we can unlock!
